David Moyes was facing an uphill battle to keep West Ham United in the Premier League when he was appointed in November.
West Ham had made their worst ever start to a Premier League season with just two wins from their first 15 games.
And Moyes failed to provide the new manager bounce initially, losing three and drawing one of his four games in charge.
Wins over Chelsea, Stoke and West Bromwich Albion and draws with Arsenal and Bournemouth since have given the East Londoners real hope of avoid a disastrous relegation in only their second season at their new London Stadium home.
It has also gone some way to repairing Moyes’ reputation too after struggles in his previous jobs.
The Premier League is incredibly congested in the bottom half and Moyes knows he still has plenty of work to do to secure safety and possibly the job long term after signing a six-month deal when he replaced Slaven Bilic.
And speaking on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily former England defender Danny Mills delivered his verdict on the job Moyes is doing at West Ham.
“I think he’s(Moyes) done very, very well,” Mills told Premier League Daily on Sky Sports.
“Difficult for him obviously coming in, hasn’t had great success in his last few managerial appointments.
“I don’t think they’ll have any issues about survival now.
“The bottom of the table is so congested with a win and a draw you can almost leap up six or seven places you know that’s how tight it is. I think West Ham have got enough quality to get themselves out of it.”
West Ham face a tough trip to fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night but have good memories from October when they came from 2-0 down to beat Spurs 3-2 in the Carabao Cup.
