Danny Mills has claimed that Christian Eriksen has been ‘quite clever’ in his bid to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer because he believes he ‘will have known’ for a long while what all his options are for now and 12 months time.
The Evening Standard previously claimed that Tottenham valued their wantaway playmaker at £130 million this summer, amid his comments after the Champions League final and interest in his signature from other parties.
When Tottenham were beaten in the Champions League final in June, Eriksen made it clear that he was ready to leave the club and look for a ‘new challenge’, as quoted by the Guardian.
Speaking to Kick Off on TalkSport (06/08/2019 at 8:15 pm), former Premier League defender claimed that Eriksen has been clever in his ways of trying to leave the club this summer.
“He [Eriksen] will have known that,” Mills told TalkSport. “Agents will be talking all over. Eriksen will know every single option that is on the table. For now, six months time and in 12 months time. And he will be waiting for that.

“By making that statement that he made very, very early on after the end of the Champions League final, he will have known for a long time what all his options are. So, he’s even quite clever in doing that.”
Whilst Thursday’s deadline counts for Premier League clubs, those in Europe have a different deadline, which ends on September 2.
So, effectively, Spurs could find themselves in a situation where European clubs try to tempt the likes of Eriksen away from the club because the situation allows them to.
