Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United are currently sitting in the Championship’s automatic places.
Danny Mills has stated that he tells people that Leeds United supporters and Elland Road is still ‘one of the best atmospheres around’.
Last Friday, the Whites, who are chasing promotion to the Premier League, thumped rivals West Brom 4-0 on home soil, with the fans playing a big part in their performance.
The Yorkshire outfit, who have been out of England’s top-flight for over a decade, are the closest they have ever been to returning to the promised land.
Speaking to LS11’s official YouTube channel, Mills was full of praise for his former club and their passionate supporters.
“Everyone at Leeds and I have been there quite a lot this season, I still say to anybody, it’s still one of the best atmospheres around,” Mills told LS11.
“There aren’t too many grounds that you go to, maybe some of the European stadiums that are still a little bit old school. It’s genuine fans, old school, getting behind their team, no matter what.”
At this moment in time, Marcelo Bielsa’s side are sitting second in the Championship and are one point ahead of third-placed Sheffield United in the table.
Last Tuesday, they suffered a costly defeat at out-of-form QPR which started to worry certain sections of fans that they could be beginning to wobble during a crucial stage of the season.
However, they proved their worth against a promotion rival West Brom days later and bounced back in emphatic style as they will be looking to build some momentum going into this weekend’s fixtures.
On Saturday, Bielsa’s side will travel to Bristol City to take on Lee Johnson’s sixth-placed side before taking on relegation-threatened Reading three days later.
