Newcastle United have been linked with a move for the Liverpool man.

According to the Guardian, Newcastle United want to sign Danny Ings on loan from Liverpool next month, but the striker will only excel at St. James’ Park if the players around him considerably up their respective games. Players such as Matt Ritchie, who are capable of so much, but who have slumped just as they have been needed the most.
The Newcastle winger is capable of scoring and assisting on a regular basis, and Ings will only be able to help the Magpies avoid relegation and move into the top half of the table if Ritchie lays chances on a plate for him.

The same can be said for Jonjo Shelvey, who has been labelled a liability by some Newcastle fans this season but who could still be vital to the cause if he channels his energy the right way.
Ings is a fine striker who has been blighted by injury in recent times, and he could be a massive hit at Newcastle if he stays fit and hits the ground running.

In order for him to do the latter, Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez will have to put out a side that can supply regular chances for a forward who will be desperate to make up for lost time.
It is not only Ritchie and Shelvey who need to improve. Ayoze Perez also needs to up his game to justify his starting spot and, with the right mentality and some improved performances from Newcastle’s creative catalysts could allow Ings to shine
