The Celtic-linked midfielder has decided to sign a new deal with the Championship club.

It looks like Celtic won’t be signing Joe Allen this summer.
The Gambling Times claimed earlier this month that the Wales international was game to link up with Brendan Rodgers once again at Celtic.
But a very surprising development on Monday means that is now unlikely to happen.
The Stoke City midfielder signed a contract extension at the Bet 365 Stadium, despite the Potters’ relegation to the Championship.

Of course, Allen isn’t certain to stay at Stoke in spite of that decision, but plying his trade in the Championship now looks a lot more likely than it did prior to signing a new deal.
And club legend Danny Higginbotham reckons it’s the best business that City will do this summer.
Despite the speculation, moving for Allen didn’t make a lot of sense from a Celtic perspective. The former Swansea City star would’ve cost a lot of money before the extension, and central midfield isn’t exactly an area where Rodgers’s side struggle.
