Wolverhampton Wanderers are playing in the Premier League this season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship.
Wolves won automatic promotion from the Championship to the Premier League at the end of last season.
The Wanderers have been superb in the Premier League so far this season, and have taken points off of both Manchester United and Manchester City.
Nuno’s side play a very attacking and entertaining brand of football, and have some wonderful players such as Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves.
Former United and Derby County defender Higginbotham, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that Wolves will be challenging for the Premier League top six in the next three or four years.
Higginbotham told talkSPORT: “I believe in the next three years, four years, they will be challenging the top six. I think they have got that mentality now. I don’t think they are going anywhere.”
Bold prediction?
Wolves spent quite a bit of money to get promoted from the Championship, and the Wanderers were prudent in the summer transfer window.
It is clear that Wolves have lofty ambition for the future, and one should not be surprised if Higginbotham’s prediction does come true.
Meanwhile, Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has expressed his delight at playing at Old Trafford, and told The Express & Star: “I was nervous from even stepping foot into the building!
“Words can’t describe how it feels to step out on such an amazing pitch at Old Trafford, you can’t describe that feeling.”
