West Ham United are said to be leading the race to sign the Chelsea midfielder.

According to The Telegraph, Danny Drinkwater could be on his way to West Ham United in the summer.
Drinkwater has reportedly grown frustrated about a lack of first-team football at Chelsea and could be on the move at the end of the season.
And if he does arrive at West Ham, then Drinkwater could offer the Hammers exactly what they have been lacking.

David Moyes’ side have the leakiest defence in the Premier League, and their midfield’s failure to provide their backline with adequate cover has been a major reason behind this.
The likes of Mark Noble and Cheikhou Kouyate have failed to be effective shields for West Ham’s defence, and signing a defensive midfielder is surely high on Moyes’ list of priorities for the summer.
Drinkwater’s arrival would certainly fill the void in West Ham’s squad, and a potential partnership with Pedro Obiang would be exciting.

Obiang has missed much of this season with injury, and his absence has been noticeable.
But his return will be very welcomed, and if Moyes can pair Obiang and Drinkwater together in midfield next season, West Ham will be a much tougher opponent to face.
