It’s been clear for a while now – Wolves should look for a new Molineux skipper.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have brought Danny Batth up through the youth system, and for the most part he has repaid them with some fantastic performances. Unfortunately, this season both his ability on the pitch in addition to his leadership skills seem to be diminishing with each passing game.
The 26-year-old looks like a deer in the headlights for the most part, and it seems as if a few years in the first team has gone to his head. One way or another, this is not the same defender that we have seen in years gone by.

The direction of the last few managers may not have been up to scratch for Batth, but he only has himself to blame for his displays in the last few months. It almost feels like his role as captain is more for his years of gratitude as opposed to actual quality, and that needs to stop.
Someone like Dave Edwards, who appears to be able to utilise that drive alot better than Batth, needs to be given a chance to lead this team. The fans are turning against the defender and he could benefit from some time out of the spotlight.
At the end of the day, Danny Batth should not be the leader of Wolves.
