The loaned out Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Danny Batth has congratulated Ryan Giles on his new Molineux contract.

Giles signed a four-year deal with Wolves on Tuesday, which should keep him at the Premier League club until at least the summer of 2022.

And his former captain was quick to get in touch, despite having spent the past two months 175 miles away in Middlesbrough.

“Congrats lad keep putting in the work,” wrote Batth, himself a graduate of Wolves’ academy system, on Twitter.

Telford born Giles has spent more than half his 18-year lifespan on Wanderers’ books, and was named academy player of the year last term.

The winger is still awaiting his debut for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team, but did make the bench for this season’s League Cup fixtures against Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester City.
