The Tottenham Hotspur player will not be involved for his country next week.
The Danish football association has tweeted that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen will not travel with the squad for the upcoming clash with the Czech Republic due to injury.
The play-maker was in fine form for his country in their last World Cup qualifying tie, scoring two goals in a 4-1 victory against Kazakhstan, but he will not be involved when the Danes take to the field for Tuesday’s friendly.
Eriksen has been superb for his country in recent games. However he has failed to replicate his best form for Tottenham, scoring two goals and providing three assists in 15 appearances to date.
The 24-year-old is a talented player but he needs to offer more consistency, especially with Tottenham’s squad growing ever stronger and a new wave of teenagers coming through the ranks.
With Denmark’s upcoming match just a friendly, they will not be too disappointed to be without Eriksen.
However Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will hope there is nothing serious as he prepares for the challenges to come, starting with a league clash against West Ham United next weekend.
