The Tottenham Hotspur play-maker has been linked with the Spanish giants and the stories keep coming.

Tottenham Hotspur fans may already be getting sick of the rumours linking Christian Eriksen with a summer switch to Barcelona, but the Danish media are lapping it up, so much so that website bt.dk has asked the player’s international boss what he thinks of the story.
Eriksen has a contract at Spurs until the summer of 2020 yet that has not stopped reports that he could swap Tottenham’s temporary stint at Wembley for the Nou Camp.
When asked about the situation, Age Hareide is quoted as saying, “He (Eriksen) is a fantastic footballer, and with even better players around him he will get even better.
“Smarter players around him will benefit a player like Christian, who is so gifted with the ball at his feet.”

While Hareide went on to mention that it would be difficult for Eriksen because he is already a star at Tottenham, Spurs fans will not be too happy at the possible suggestion that he should move on for the good of his career.
After all, the Danish international has blossomed since signing for Tottenham from Ajax for a bargain fee, scoring 42 goals and providing 56 assists in 179 appearances to date.

Tottenham hold all the cards with the player tied to a long-term contract, and one wonders how solid Barca’s interest is and how much of the rumour is paper-talk and hope rather than expectation.
One thing is for sure, and that is if Mauricio Pochettino’s side want to challenge both domestically and in Europe next season they need all their star names to remain, one of which is undoubtedly the majestic 25-year-old.
