Lyngby are trying to create a partnership with Aston Villa for the future benefit of both clubs.

Aston Villa are making headlines in the Championship at the moment with their incredible run of form. That has seen them skyrocket up the table and they are now hoping to put Wolves under pressure at the top of the table and are firmly in a promotion hunt.
They have also been making news in Denmark, over the projected involvement in a buy-out of struggling Danish Superliga side Lyngby.

The club have been suffering with severe financial problems in recent times and some light has been shed on the talk by a man who was involved in a recent rescue deal of the club.
Mads Byder headed up the ‘Friends of Lyngby’ group which saved the club from going under last week and he has spoken to BT in Denmark about a successful first meeting with Aston Villa’s representatives:
“We had a good meeting with Aston Villa management. We have shown them our Lyngby DNA both on the pitch and at powerpoint. They seemed interested in our club and they went home with a positive impression after their meeting with the municipality too.
“A dialogue has been established, which makes the stock solid and it gives blood to the teeth of ‘Friends of Lyngby’. We have also decided that the circle of Friends of Lyngby may be bigger and we meet the desire to let more co-owners come. With regard to the capital base, we are very pleased with the preliminary result, which has shown a genuine and positive interest in the project.”
Aston Villa fans celebrate
It is not yet fully clear what Aston Villa’s plans are regarding Lyngby. It would seem they are hoping to create some sort of successful partnership between the two clubs, which fans will hope can lead to the development of current Villa players and indeed the recruitment of talented ones from Denmark.
Lyngby, who seemed on the brink of liquidation, will just hope whatever the deal is it can help them in their pursuit of long-term survival.
