Could Daniel Sturridge leave Liverpool for Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window?

The Mirror recently published a feature in which they named 10 Premier League players who need to move from their respective clubs in the January transfer window in order to kickstart their careers.

Among the players mentioned in the feature was Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.

The England international is one of the best strikers in the Premier League, but the 27-year-old is struggling for playing time at the moment.

The former Chelsea and Manchester City striker has been able to play just eight times in the Premier League for Liverpool so far this campaign, creating three chances in the process.

According to the feature in The Mirror, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain are possible destinations for Sturridge.

While the striker may need to leave Liverpool in January in order to get regular playing time, it is very unlikely that a move to Tottenham would come about.

The big hurdle in this move is that Liverpool would not be open to selling a proven Premier League goalscorer to any of their title rivals.

Tottenham’s recent form in the league may not be great, but there can be no denial that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are genuine title challengers.

Would Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp be willing to enhance Spurs’ chances of winning the league title by selling them a striker who scored 21 league goals in the 2013-14 campaign?

Another problem is that Sturridge could struggle to play regularly for Spurs.

Harry Kane is the number one striker at Tottenham, and Sturridge would have to hope that Pochettino deploys two players upfront regularly to get regular playing time.
