Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has been quoted as saying by BBC Sport (19:39) that he is not as clinical as he should be.

Roberto Firmino put the Reds in the lead after just 13 minutes, and Sadio Mane doubled the advantage just past the half-hour mark.

Jamie Vardy halved the deficit for Leicester on 38 minutes, but Adam Lallana and Firmino found the net in the second half to secure all three points for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Sturridge started the game for Liverpool and played for 76 minutes. The England international striker has admitted that he is still not as clinical as he should be.

“For me it is all about making runs, as long as players are making movements and giving you the opportunities,” BBC Sport (19:39) quotes the 27-year-old as saying.

“I like to make runs to make space but it was a great run from Mane to make space for me. I was starting as a centre-forward, I’m still not as clinical as I should be but I take it on the chin and get on with it.”

Against Leicester at Anfield on Saturday evening, Sturridge took five shots and created two chances.

Jurgen Klopp’s side had 63% of the possession, took 17 shots of which 11 were on target, and earned one corner, according to BBC Sport.
