During the 2013-14 campaign, he hit the 25-goal barrier and what a massive boost for Villa if Dean Smith recruits a striker of this calibre.
Yes, they have signed Brazilian powerhouse Wesley already, but he’s unproven in England. Sturridge is as proven as you get and if Aston Villa land him, their chances of a good season will rise rapidly.
