Everton and West Ham United were both in competition to sign Daniel Opare from Augsburg.

Opare is currently at Augsburg, but he only has six months left on his contract, which means English clubs are able to discuss terms with him.
West Ham and Everton are both said to have been interested in signing the 27-year-old, and the defender is close to moving to the London Stadium.

West Ham are said to be very confident of announcing Opare as their player, and if the defender has picked David Moyes’ side then he has made a smart decision.
At Everton, Opare would have had serious competition for a place in Sam Allardyce’s line-up.
Everton already have Seamus Coleman and Jonjoe Kenny on their books, which means they are well stocked at right-back.

At West Ham, on the other hand, there is clear route into their starting line-up.
Pablo Zabaleta and Sam Byram have both been used at right-back this term, but neither have entirely convinced.
And if Opare moves to West Ham, then he will surely have a good chance of playing regularly at the London Stadium.
