The blame lies with Daniel Levy if Harry Kane is diagnosed with a serious injury that ruins Tottenham Hotspur’s season.

Tottenham Hotspur face a season-defining few days as they wait to discover the extent of Harry Kane’s ankle injury.
The Spurs striker suffered the problem during Sunday’s 1-0 defeat by Manchester United and The Guardian reported this morning that Kane himself ‘fears’ a month-long layoff.
But Tottenham can’t scan the joint until the swelling is reduced, which means that it could very well be longer than four weeks.
It’s potentially a very serious problem, but it might not have been as potentially detrimental to their season had chairman Daniel Levy signed more than zero players last summer.
The Lilywhites made transfer window history for the wrong reasons by becoming the first Premier League team to sign no players during the three-month period.
For so long it looked like Levy’s gamble hadn’t negatively affected Spurs’ season – in fact, they were challenging for the Premier League title up until a few weeks ago – but it could blow up in his face if the team’s season is ruined by an injury to Kane.
Even if the 25-year-old is only out for a month, that’s the first leg against Borussia Dortmund in the last 16 of the Champions League, and next week’s second leg at Chelsea in the semi-final of the League Cup.
The truth is that Tottenham have been far too reliant on him for far too long and if it takes catastrophe to wake Levy up to the fact that he has needed a top-drawer alternative for about three years then so be it.
