According to Eurosport, Daniel Levy was fearing that 10 players would leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer if Jose Mourinho was kept in the job.

Spurs announced on Monday morning that they had parted company with Mourinho after a disappointing run of form.

With a top four finish now looking unlikely, Spurs have decided that it’s not going to get any better with Mourinho at the helm.

Chairman Levy must now focus on finding a replacement, but it’s now claimed that a feared mass exodus played a part in his decision.

This new report states that Levy feared 10 players would leave Tottenham this summer if Mourinho wasn’t removed as manager.

The feeling at Tottenham may have been so bad that some players would have wanted to go, and Levy doesn’t want that to happen.

So who could have walked? Well, you’d imagine that Harry Winks and Dele Alli would be two of them having been frozen out, whilst Matt Doherty, Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez and Steven Bergwijn would have all had reason to leave.

Gareth Bale may not have wanted to come back, whilst Erik Lamela and Serge Aurier are both being linked away from the club.

Harry Kane is the big case here, as whilst he had no direct issues with Mourinho, missing out on the Champions League and playing a defensive brand of football can’t have made him happy – so Levy is seeking to prevent a full-scale overhaul.
