Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is now going to start making background checks on four managerial candidates, including Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou and Brighton and Hove Albion’s Roberto De Zerbi, according to a report.
Daniel Levy to start making background checks on Tottenham managerial candidates
The Telegraph have reported that Tottenham have made recently sacked Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann as their number one managerial target for the summer of 2023.
Brighton boss De Zerbi, Celtic manager Postecoglou and former Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique are the other candidates who “feature prominently” in Levy’s plans.
The report has claimed that “Tottenham want to talk to Nagelsmann, while Levy will also immediately start making background checks on the other potential candidates for the full-time Spurs job”.
Over the weekend, Tottenham parted company with Antonio Conte.
Cristian Stellini will be the Acting Head Coach at Tottenham for the rest of the season.

HITC Verdict: Big decision in the summer
In our view, Tottenham Hotspur have a big decision to make in the summer of 2023 regarding their new manager.
Levy simply cannot make a mistake this time around.
Since Mauricio Pochettino was sacked, things have not worked out with Jose Mourinho, Nuno and Antonio Conte.
Mourinho and Conte are serial winners, and neither could make a big impact at Tottenham.
Perhaps it is time for Levy to start thinking different.
Maybe it is time to bring back Mauricio Pochettino or hire someone like De Zerbi or Nagelsmann and allow him time to develop the team.
