Reports claim Jack Grealish is already planning his Manchester City exit next summer after a difficult start to life with the Premier League champions – and it gives Daniel Levy the ideal chance to rectify his 2018 Tottenham mistake.

Grealish, 27, joined Manchester City for a British record £100million in the summer of 2021 from Aston Villa. But clocking up just 45 appearances, he has only managed seven goals and four assists. He did score on the weekend.

But his move has so far been nothing short of a disappointment. A lack of regular starts, combined with Pep Guardiola’s strict tactics have seen him go from one of the brightest Premier League talents – to stuttering at City.

Back in 2018, Grealish admitted he was disappointed that a £25million move to Tottenham did not go through. Levy failed to get a deal done for the England star, unwilling to go above the fee offered. Now, he could change that.

90Min claim that Grealish has told those close to him he does not expect to remain at City beyond next summer. Indeed, he has already informed his agents to find a new club. Could Tottenham finally bring him to North London?

Grealish planning exit: Ideal chance to rectify Tottenham mistake

Ultimately, Grealish will want to remain in England. He will feel he has unfinished business to show the Premier League he can still shine at one of the divisions biggest clubs – and he is not just a player that can turn out for his own club.

The step down from City or Liverpool, is the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham or Manchester United. So, Spurs are well within a shout of signing Grealish. It would also improve their teetering homegrown balance of players.

Antonio Conte’s counter-attacking style would give Grealish the room he needs to create and score. For City, he often faces a low block of players and struggles to get any momentum up when running with the ball. Spurs might be ideal.
