Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has been quoted by the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust as saying that the Spurs players will be expected to honour their contracts this summer.
Spurs’ title hopes have all but died in the last few days, losing 1-0 away at West Ham United before Chelsea beat Middlesbrough on Monday evening.
Chelsea can now win the Premier League title with a win over West Bromwich Albion on Friday night, but Tottenham have enjoyed another strong season, and deserve praise for their recent form.
Before losing to West Ham, Tottenham had won nine Premier League games in a row, whilst they have also guaranteed that they will finish above Arsenal in the Premier League table for the first time in over 20 years.

Whilst Spurs have been working hard over the last year to tie key players – such as Danny Rose, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane – down to new contracts, speculation surrounds the future of some Tottenham stars, with two dominating the headlines in recent weeks.
The Manchester Evening News report that Walker could double his £70,000-a-week wages by moving to Manchester City this summer, whilst the Daily Mail claim that centre back Toby Alderweireld wants £110,000-a-week in order to stay at the club.

Many believe that Tottenham face problems this summer attempting to keep their best players at the club, and chairman Daniel Levy has now been asked about the situation.
Levy, as quoted by the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust, suggested that the players will be expected to honour contracts they signed recently, claiming that they wouldn’t expect a reduction if they had struggled this term, so shouldn’t expect a pay rise now.
“All players were under contracts, contracts they were happy to sign at the time. They would be expected to honour those contracts. They wouldn’t have had a reduction if things had gone badly,” said Levy.
