Leeds United is the smarter move for the in-demand Welshman.

If rumours are believed, Leeds United could have competition for the signing of Daniel James – serious competition.
According to The Daily Mail, Manchester United are favourites to sign the Wales international, who has had an exceptional season with Swansea City.
James was agonisingly close to joining Leeds in January and even travelled to Thorp Arch for the unveiling, before City pulled the plug in the last minute.
Few would forgive him if he did prefer to join the Red Devils, but Leeds is the better move.
Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino are both huge fans of the Whites’ boss Marcelo Bielsa and this season we’ve seen why.
We have seen Bielsa lead the Elland Road club to the playoffs by using many of the same players who finished 13th in the Championship last season.
He is an outstanding coach and one who can take James to the next level, as he has done with so many players in West Yorkshire so far.

The bullet-fast Welshman is still only 21, which means he is nowhere near the finished article yet. He can get better, but only with the right guidance and regular football. Will he get either at Old Trafford?
At this moment, James is still a player with huge promise and he is simply far more likely to realise this potential under a figure like Bielsa.
Snubbing Manchester United would be a huge risk, but longer term Leeds would be the smarter move.
