Daniel James is finally a Leeds United player, two years after the Whites failed to sign him on deadline day from Swansea City.
The winger has joined from Manchester United for £25m, and it sounds as though he’s very excited to get started at Elland Road and it sounds as though he’s also keen to work under Marcelo Bielsa.
Indeed, James says he spoke to Tyler Roberts about Bielsa before he arrived, and his Wales teammate gave the Argentine a glowing review.
What’s been said?
James spoke about his conversation with Roberts.
“Obviously I spoke to Tyler (Roberts) and he’s learned so much that maybe it’s not even him being told, it’s kind of the sessions he’s done. Not just learning from speech, it’s visually,” James said, via The Independent.
“It’s my time. I’m 23 now going on 24 but at the end of my career, towards the end, I still want to keep learning every day and I think it’s important to do that.”

Bielsa’s pull
Leeds United wouldn’t have been able to sign a winger from Manchester United a few years ago, but the pull of Marcelo Bielsa has allowed the Whites to pull off this type of signing.
James was clearly keen to know what life under Bielsa is all about, and despite his recent lack of minutes, it sounds as though Roberts had nothing but good things to say.
Fingers crossed James can learn Bielsa’s ways quickly and make an instant impact at Elland Road.
