Gary Neville has said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:47pm, September 17, 2021) that he is happy that Daniel James left Manchester United for Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United in the summer transfer window.
The former United defender believes that James would have been a squad player at the Red Devils, who signed Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho among other players in the summer transfer window.
The Sky Sports pundit believes that Wales international winger James is perfect for Leeds.
Neville said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:47pm, September 17, 2021): “I am really happy that he has left Manchester United and gone to Leeds.
“I think he would have been a bit-part player at Manchester United. They have got so many forwards, so many attacking players. He comes here, he is perfect for Leeds United.”

Leeds United transfer made sense
James could not really become a big star at United, and with Ronaldo and Sancho moving to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window, it would have been really hard for the winger to play week in and week out in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.
The winger made 11 starts in the Premier League last season and 26 starts in the league in 2019-20.

James is a very quick winger who is direct and also tracks back.
Leeds play very dynamic fast-paced football, and James does suit the way Bielsa plays.
James is just 23 now, and there is very possibility that he will become a better and more mature player under Bielsa at Leeds in the coming years.
