Graham Dorrans looks set to seal a return to Scotland with Rangers – though he could be crucial to Norwich City’s style under Daniel Farke.

If you’re looking for a progressive, left-field managerial appointment, Borussia Dortmund’s reserves is the place to go.

It’s been a proud season for Die Schwarzgelben’s latest crop of coaching graduates. Hannes Wolf guided Stuttgart back to the Bundesliga, David Wagner made history by taking Huddersfield Town to the top flight for the first time since 1972 and David Farke’s achievements with Dortmund’s youth team have earned him a chance at Norwich City.

And, according to the Eastern Daily Press, Canaries could warble in appreciation as Farke aims to instill a pretty passing philosophy at Carrow Road.

This appears to suit one Norwich player more than most. With an 86 per cent average pass completion rate, Graham Dorrans is the most accurate distributor in the Canaries’ squad. Only centre-half Russell Martin averaged more passes per 90 minutes in 2016/17.

Therefore, it’s a little unfortunate that Farke appears to have one of his potentially key players sold from under his feet. According to Sky Sports, Scottish giants Rangers are in talks to sign Dorrans for £1.5 million this summer, giving him a chance to join his boyhood club.

And it appears that Farke is powerless to prevent Dorrans’ exit. Director of Football Stuart Webber has presided over a major re-shuffle since arriving from Huddersfield Town with a number of senior players, such as John Ruddy, Michael Turner and Steven Naismith, shown the door.
