Leeds United want to sign Kenny McLean with Daniel Farke now keen on a reunion with the Norwich City midfielder.

Kenny McLean is thought to be on the Leeds United radar as Daniel Farke looks to work with the Scot again.

The Daily Mail report that Leeds have been internally discussing making a move to sign McLean before the summer deadline.

The Whites are keen to add another midfielder after seeing Tyler Adams move on to Bournemouth just days ago.

Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara is a key target but it’s now suggested that McLean is on the Leeds wish list too.

The 31-year-old still has just shy of two years left on his contract at Carrow Road so the Canaries won’t just give him away.

McLean has also played every single minute for Norwich in the Championship season, serving as their captain in all three outings.

It’s hard to see Norwich parting with McLean but maybe he can be tempted by a reunion with Daniel Farke…

What has Daniel Farke said about Leeds United target Kenny McLean?

Farke was in charge of Norwich when they pounced to sign McLean from Aberdeen back in 2018.

McLean racked up 114 appearances under Farke at Carrow Road, notching eight goals and 15 assists in that time.

Farke was a big fan of McLean, praising him Norwich’s ‘most complete midfielder’ back in 2020.

The German highlighted that McLean is ‘aggressive’ and gets through a lot of work in the engine room.

Farke heaped praise on McLean so the notion of Leeds now looking to sign him certainly makes sense.

Whether Norwich would sell such an important player to a club likely to to be a rival in the promotion race is another matter.

This deal seems tricky at best but if there is a glimmer of hope, Farke would surely love to see McLean arrive at Elland Road.
