Tottenham’s Marcus Edwards is on loan at Norwich City.
Norwich City boss Daniel Farke has told the club’s official Twitter account that Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Marcus Edwards still isn’t where he needs to be.
Edwards, 19, has come up through the ranks with Spurs, and has been touted for a huge future, not only be fans but also by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The diminutive midfielder has only made one first-team appearance for Spurs though, and hasn’t quite kicked on as expected, and he was sent out on loan for first-team football in January.
Norwich City had sold playmaker Alex Pritchard – ironically, former of Tottenham – to Huddersfield Town, and needed a quick replacement, landing Edwards on loan until the end of the season.
This was supposed to be the loan move to help Edwards become a first-team regular for Spurs, but if anything, his move to Carrow Road may be doing him more harm than good right now.
Edwards has still yet to make his Norwich debut, with manager Daniel Farke making repeated mention of the fact that the teenager isn’t quite ready to feature for the Canaries.
Norwich travel to take on Barnsley in the Championship on Tuesday night, and Farke’s latest comments suggest that Edwards won’t be making his Norwich debut in that game either.
As quoted by the club’s official Twitter account, Farke claimed earlier today that Edwards isn’t ready to play due to his work without the ball, but is improving gradually, meaning he may need to wait a little longer before he can feature for Norwich.
