Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has praised Georginio Rutter after his performance in the win over Huddersfield Town.

Georginio Rutter was simply ‘unplayable’ at times as Leeds United hammered Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.

That is the verdict of Leeds boss Daniel Farke, as quoted by The Athletic’s Phil Hay.

Leeds hosted Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town on Saturday and simply ran riot against the Terriers.

Daniel James fired Leeds in front before Crysencio Summerville added number two.

Summerville set up James for the third and then bagged the fourth himself as Leeds were 4-0 up before half-time.

Daniel Farke raves about Leeds United’s Georginio Rutter

A Huddersfield consolation after the break didn’t take the shine off a Leeds win as their attacking players again excelled.

Summerville and James were the ones on the scoresheet but teammate Georginio Rutter was just as impressive.

Rutter set up Summerville’s second goal by simply driving away from any Huddersfield player who came near him.

The stats are hugely impressive; four key passes and five successful dribbles just go to show what a force Rutter was against Huddersfield.

The Frenchman deserved a goal himself but still earned huge praise from boss Farke after the final whistle.

Farke told Phil Hay that he wanted Rutter to be more greedy in the final third but felt that he was simply ‘unplayable’ for large parts.

Farke does feel that Rutter can become even better down the line, with Leeds potentially having a real star on their hands.

“I want him to be keen and greedy to score. But in the first half he was at times unplayable. There’s always room for improvement,” said Farke.

My view: Rutter starting to repay huge Leeds United fee

We felt a little sorry for Rutter towards the end of last season.

Leeds smashed their transfer record to sign Rutter in a £35.5million deal from Hoffenheim.

The Frenchman started just one league game for Leeds as they were relegated to the Championship, and he was held up as an example of the club’s poor recruitment.

There were even links suggesting that Rutter could go back to Hoffenheim in the summer with his Leeds move not working out.

Leeds kept Rutter and are now seeing him shine in the Championship, already racking up five assists this season.

Adjusting to English football in the Championship seems to be really helping Rutter and it should prepare him for the Premier League moving forward.

The 21-year-old still needs to add more goals to his game but Leeds fans are finally starting to see Rutter shine.
