Daniel Farke has surprisingly claimed that the area where he can criticise his Norwich City players after their 4-0 win over Bolton on Saturday is that the should have been ‘even more clinical’ in front of goal.

With Leeds United not playing this weekend, the three points against the relegation-threatened side allowed Farke’s men to move to the top of the Championship table.

After their surprise defeat to Preston North End in midweek, they responded in a brilliant manner with striker Teemu Pukki netting a brace for his team.

Nonetheless, after the match, Farke assessed his side’s performance as he admitted that they should have been ‘more brutal’ in front of goal.

“The only thing I could criticise is that we should be even more clinical and brutal in [taking our] chances,” Farke told his post-match press conference, as posted by the PinkUn.

“But I can’t complain too much [because] there was a 4-0 win. Clean sheet. It was outstanding.”

At this moment in time, Norwich are sitting top of the pile on 63 points, two points ahead of second-placed Sheffield United, who also ran out 4-0 winners against Reading on the same day.

But the Canaries can lose top spot if Leeds win their next two league matches, including their game in hand against Queens Park Rangers at the end of this month.

Nonetheless, over the course of the campaign, the Championship leaders have scored an impressive 65 goals from their 33 matches – the most in the second tier of English football.

Following that win at Bolton, Norwich will now turn their attention to a tricky home fixture against sixth-placed Bristol City, who are in a rich vein of form as they chase a playoff spot.
