Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers are without Gers striker Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty for the match against Aberdeen.
Rangers winger Daniel Candeias
Steven Gerrard’s Rangers will take on Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup semi-finals this afternoon.
Rangers’ star striker Alfredo Morelos is suspended for the tie, while Kyle Lafferty is ineligible, having already featured in the competition with Heart of Midlothian.
Candeias is a winger by trade, but the 30-year-old Portuguese – who joined Rangers from Benfica in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £700,000 – has suggested that he is willing to play as a striker.
“I don’t know who will play as striker, but I’ll play wherever the gaffer wants,” Candeias told The Scottish Sun. “When I was younger I played as a striker but then I changed position.”

In good form
Candeias is a very good winger who has established himself as an important player in Gerrard’s Rangers team.
The 30-year-old Portuguese winger has scored one goal and provided two assists in six Scottish Premiership appearances for the Gers so far this season, according to Transfermarkt.com.
In three Europa League appearances for Rangers so far this campaign, Candeias has provided two assists, according to WhoScored.
