Daniel Candeias wants Glasgow Rangers teammate Alfredo Morelos to stay at Ibrox for one more year.

Daniel Candeias has admitted that he expects Alfredo Morelos to leave Rangers sooner or later, but the winger insisted that he believes that the Colombian should stay at Ibrox for one more year, in comments reported by the Evening Times.
Morelos has enjoyed an outstanding season, scoring 29 goals in all competitions for Steven Gerrard’s side. He is the top goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership, and perhaps should be looking for the kind of incredible end to the campaign that may take his tally towards the 40-strike mark.
Unsurprisingly, the Evening Times reports that Rangers are bracing themselves for interest in the striker in the summer. And while Candeias is under no illusions that the Gers will not have Morelos leading the line for them forever, he urged his teammate to stick around for another season.
“Alfredo doesn’t change much when he hears about stories saying he could move to another club or leave Rangers,” he said, as reported by the Evening Times.

“I think if he stays one more year in Scotland it would be good for him. Of course, if you score goals like this season, maybe you leave Rangers for another club. That’s normal.”
Although Morelos’ new contract has probably done little to change the course of his future, it has guaranteed that Rangers can expect a marquee fee for their talisman whenever the time comes for the forward to move on.

But as the task of replacing the 22-year-old will not be an easy one – even with at least £20 million to spend – Gerrard will certainly be hoping that Rangers receive no bids that meet the club’s valuation.
If the Gers can make some notable additions to their squad this summer and manage to hold onto Morelos for another year, they could be in a fantastic position to build on what has ultimately been a very promising first campaign under Gerrard.
