The talented Newcastle youngster has been impressive at U23 level this season.
It has been a challenging season so far for Newcastle United, but the club have some very talented youngsters on their books and Daniel Barlaser certainly falls into that category.
Capable of playing as a winger but most frequently deployed as a central midfielder, Barlaser has been a regular for Newcastle at U23 level so far this season.
The prospect has produced some encouraging performances and has registered three assists in eleven appearances, underlining his status as one of the club’s standout players at that level.
Hugely effective at breaking up play and distributing short, snappy passes to his team-mates, Barlaser made his senior Newcastle debut in an FA Cup game against Birmingham City last season and also featured against Oxford United in the same competition.
This season Barlaser was involved in Newcastle’s Carabao Cup loss to Nottingham Forest and also featured in the EFL Trophy, but he is still waiting to make his league debut for the club.
With Newcastle likely to be heavily active in the January transfer window, Barlaser, who is eligible to represent both England and Turkey at international level, could find himself pushed a little further down the pecking order at the club.
As a consequence, the 20-year-old could well be sent out on loan in order to gain valuable experience of playing regular senior football, but his main aim is certainly to eventually make the breakthrough at Newcastle.
