The Nottingham Forest defender had not featured since December.
Nottingham Forest’s Dani Pinillos has taken to Instagram after making his long-awaited comeback in the Reds Under-23s’ draw against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday.
The Forest fan favourite has been sidelined for the best part of a year with a knee injury, but played 45 minutes of last night’s stalemate at the Impact Arena.
The Spaniard posted afterwards: “After ten long months of recovery, I finally feel footballer again. Thank you very much everyone for their support.”
And a familiar face was among the first to congratulate Pinillos on his return, in Red Bull Leipzig winger Oliver Burke.
Burke, who was a teammate of the 24-year-old until his £13 million departure in August, commented: “Yes!! Love that!!”

Pinillos signed for Forest in summer 2015, having impressed during a trial spell, and the former Cordoba man quickly established himself as the Reds’ first-choice left-back before being struck down at Wolverhampton Wanderers in December.

Though there were no goals in Alfreton, there were a couple of red cards, with Forest’s Toby Edser and Wednesday’s Jack Stobbs dismissed following a ‘flare up’ late in the second half.
The Owls’ side contained former Olympiacos defender Claude Dielna.
