Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in talks with Dani Olmo and RB Leipzig want to know sooner rather than later what the Spain international has planned regarding his future at the Bundesliga outfit.

With Antonio Conte gone, Tottenham are in hot pursuit of a new head coach.

And it may be no coincidence that Olmo appears to have emerged on Spurs’ radar at a time in which Daniel Levy is mulling over moves for two coaches who know the former Barcelona whizzkid like the back of their hand.

Olmo played under Julian Nagelsmann at the Red Bull Arena. His best performances, meanwhile, arguably came alongside Luis Enrique for the Spanish national team; Olmo one of the first names on the team sheet during the Qatar World Cup and the European Championships.

Tottenham Hotspur like RB Leipzig ace Dani Olmo

According to BILD, initial talks have taken place between Spurs and Leipzig regarding the £33 million-rated attacking midfielder.

And, with his contract expiring in just over 12 months’ time, Leipzig’s sporting director Max Eberl has indicated that Olmo must make a decision on his future before the end of the current campaign.

“We won’t wait that long,” Max Eberl explains, via BuliNews, when asked if Olmo’s decision rests on whether Leipzig qualify for the Champions League.

“We want to know beforehand how things will continue.”

Olmo has four goals and six assists during a rather underwhelming campaign. The 24-year-old could still be a very useful addition for a Tottenham side as reliant as ever upon Harry Kane. Especially with Heung Min-Son now the wrong side of 30, and now longer quite so consistent.

Richarlison is still awaiting his first league goal. Arnaut Danjuma is unlikely to stay. Dejan Kulusevski, meanwhile, is a shadow of his former self.

“Dani Olmo is huge for (the Spain team),” explains Enrique; the ex-Barcelona boss who could reportedly hold talks regarding the vacant Tottenham post this week (talkSPORT).

“He is very smart, has a lot of quality. He is a very important player for us. Dani Olmo has proven that he has high quality.

“He offers a great level and tremendous flexibility in his movement.”
