Tottenham Hotspur were said to be interested in Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos in the January transfer window, and he should have had all the encouragement he needs that the move would be good for his development after last night.
Zinedine Zidane named a fringe side to take on Leganes in La Liga, yet Ceballos was only used as a substitute in injury time.
The likes of Mateo Kovacic and Lucas Vazquez were both used ahead of Ceballos, and if he cannot break into Madrid’s reserve line-up it is hard to see exactly how he is going to progress at the Bernabeu.

Ceballos has played just 186 minutes for Madrid all season in the league, with the 21-year-old struggling for game time since moving from Real Betis.
Ceballos is simply too good to be used as a reserve player, and Spurs could now be a good option for him.

Tottenham have a track history of developing young talent, and he could be a great addition for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Ceballos would add creativity and a goalscoring threat from deep to Tottenham’s side.
And if Spurs remain interested, as they were in January according to Calcio Mercato, then Ceballos may have all the encouragement he needs to make the move now.
