Speaking to Spanish newspaper AS, Dani Ceballos has opened up on the time he spent with Arsenal.
The Spanish midfielder spent the last two years out on loan in north London, and he’s been reflecting on his spell in England.
As you can imagine, there were both positives and negatives for Ceballos, and he’s spoken about both.
What’s been said?
Ceballos was speaking about the best and worst experiences he had in England.
“I’m starting with the worst… The remoteness and how difficult it is to enjoy your family on a day-to-day basis, something that is very important to me. The best is that football is breathed in England. The stadiums are full, the fans respect you … Matches are played every few days and the stands are always full, when you could go to the fields, of course. That is essential for someone who likes football,” Ceballos said.

Could have been so different
There’s an element of sadness reading that.
Ceballos joined Arsenal at a very difficult time. The world changed due to the coronavirus pandemic halfway through his first season and he didn’t get to play in front of fans during his second spell.
As Ceballos says, it’s hard to enjoy time with your family when you move to another country, but it’s even harder amid travel restrictions and lockdowns.
The Spaniard seemingly loved to play in front of fans, but he barely got to experience that due to the fact stadiums have been mostly empty for the past 18 months.
If Ceballos came to England at any other point in time, perhaps things would have been different for him.
