Tottenham Hotspur have high hopes for young striker Dane Scarlett – and Arsenal may soon feel a similar way about Khayon Edwards.

Arsenal have seen the likes of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe emerged from the Hale End ranks.

Both are now key first-team players under Mikel Arteta. Hopefully there are more to come with Folarin Balogun, Miguel Azeez and Charlie Patino coming through.

Edwards now looks to be joining the list of exciting Arsenal talents – especially after his latest display.

Edwards shines for Arsenal Under-18’s

Arsenal Under-18’s took on Southampton on Saturday, and played out a superb 3-3 draw on the South Coast.

Amario Cozier-Duberry scored one of Arsenal’s three goals, but Edwards bagged the other two.

In his three previous Under-18 Premier League games, Edwards hit two goals and two assists.

The 18-year-old is in great form to start the season, and will have dreams of emulating Saka and Smith Rowe.

Scarlett reacts to Edwards goal

Edwards took to Instagram to post a video of his first goal.

Edwards picked the ball up down Arsenal’s right before drifting infield. He then played a superb one-two with Marcelo Flores before driving the ball into the net.

Arsenal could have a real star on their hands in Edwards, and Tottenham talent Scarlett has offered his reaction.

Scarlett is already in and around Tottenham’s first team, which is what Edwards is seeking at Arsenal.

Scarlett commented on Edwards’ goal with just one word – ‘sharp’ – as the Gunner even earns praise from the other side of North London.
