Over at Barcelona, two special talents by the name of Gavi and Pedri are proving themselves as some of the best prospects in Europe, catching the attention of Liverpool.

It was Gerard Romero who revealed that the Reds are keen, as Jürgen Klopp monitors the 17-year-old’s contract situation at the Camp Nou.

Elsewhere, the Mirror claimed Liverpool want Pedri.

Gavi becomes a free agent in June, with Xavi working desperately to keep the Spain international in Catalonia.

Now, Barcelona’s Miralem Pjanic has shared his thoughts on the wonderkids, with his comments sure to make Klopp want them at Anfield even more.

What’s the story?

Well, Pjanic is a big fan of Pedri, and also couldn’t believe how well Gavi performed in training for the first time.

As quoted by Gazzetta dello Sport, the £59m man said: “I love Pedri, he dances with the ball like Iniesta. The first time I saw Gavi in training I said wow, this boy is gonna be special.”

Clearly, the Bosnian has been left dazzled by the two Liverpool targets.

Pedri even won the Golden Boy award in 2021, a prize previously given to the likes of Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero for being the best youngster on the planet.

Liverpool can’t ignore Pedri or Gavi

If the chance to sign even one of the Spain internationals arises, Liverpool cannot turn it down.

Gavi seems to be a more realistic target, as his contract talks are yet to be finalised, whereas Pedri recently penned a new long-term deal with a €1bn (£842m) release clause.

Yes, Klopp does already have an abundance of midfield options, such as Fabinho, Thiago, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Harvey Elliott.

However, Gavi and Pedri are special, unique talents, who presumably won’t be on the market many times throughout their careers.
