Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane might be squaring off again in the near future.

The undisputed UFC heavyweight title was up for grabs last month as Tom Aspinall defended against top contender Ciryl Gane.

The fight was evenly contested until the challenger accidentally poked Aspinall in both eyes, leaving him unable to continue. The bout was ruled a no-contest.

Since then, UFC president Dana White has shared an update on how Aspinall is recovering and what could come next for the champion.

Tom Aspinall’s eyes suffered no lasting damage, claims Dana White

Aspinall is currently back home in England, resting and getting back to full health, according to White.

The UFC boss weighed in on the UFC 321 main event, telling Jim Rome it was “devastating.”

“I was devastated. When you’re in the main event and it’s heating up, and it looks like it’s a gonna be a really good fight, And then it ends with an eye poke, and that’s how the fight ends. It’s brutal.

“He’s at home. He’s recovering. And as soon as he’s able to fight again, we’ll book the rematch.

“I mean, as far as I know, we haven’t heard that there’s anything, he doesn’t have detached retina.

“There’s no damage to the eye. So, he should heal up soon, and we’ll figure out when we can make the fight again,” White stated.

How soon could we see a Tom Aspinall vs. Ciryl Gane rematch?

A second meeting between Aspinall and Gane is expected to take place in the early part of 2026.

The UFC have not released their full schedule for next year yet, but their event at The White House is expected to take place in June.

MMA reporter Nolan King has revealed that the UFC has requested a permit for an event on 24th January at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Rumours suggest it could be UFC 324.

However, we will have to wait and see if Aspinall vs. Gane ends up headlining that event.
