Josh Hokit stirred up controversy again at UFC Freedom 250 after grabbing the microphone post-fight.

He extended his winning streak with a knockout of Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250, adding another highlight to his growing record in the sport’s top promotion.

Hokit has stayed in the spotlight all week, dividing fans with his behaviour during both the press conference and weigh-ins. His presence continues to spark conversation wherever he goes.

The issue wasn’t just about him taking over the mic. It came down to something he said that didn’t sit well with Dana White. After thanking everyone involved, Hokit turned to Daniel Cormier and said, “DC. I know you want me next. Sign the contract.”

Cormier responded on X with a clear message: “Stop putting my name in your mouth before I give you what you want!”

Josh Hokit’s comments crossed a line for Dana White

Dana White wasn’t thrilled either, making it clear that this kind of callout doesn’t work for him. “First of all, DC is retired,” White told reporters when asked about Hokit’s comments.

“The guy’s working right now! The are we talking about? DC fights Josh Hokit… but there are tons of fights out there for him.”

Before picking up his fourth straight win in the UFC, Hokit had already drawn attention by getting into a back-and-forth with Alex Pereira, who later lost to Ciryl Gane on the same card.

Hokit brings up Michelle Obama during post-fight speech, and Dana White responds

Pereira claimed he’d heard talk that Hokit might be released from the UFC after his White House fight due to ongoing issues.

Hokit pushed back on that idea, noting that he’s just signed an eight-fight deal with the promotion.

Still, Hokit’s post-fight interview with Joe Rogan didn’t help his cause. He delivered another one of his prepared lines and then took a shot at Michelle Obama. Hokit said to a crowd that didn’t quite know how to respond.

Dana White wasn’t impressed. “I understand that the Obamas are public figures but I’m completely against saying nasty and false things about people’s families,” White told TIME via text message. “Everyone knows my position on free speech but I hate that kind of nonsense.”

White has made it clear before that he’s not fond of Hokit’s approach or personality. After this latest incident, Hokit could find himself in even more trouble within the organisation.
