Dana White has compared Paddy Pimblett’s rise to that of Conor McGregor — and believes the Englishman has faced even more scepticism than the former two-weight champion did early in his career.

Paddy Pimblett is set to face Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight title at UFC 324. The fight marks the biggest test of his career so far and could cement his place among the division’s elite.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Dana White said Pimblett’s journey reminds him of McGregor’s early days in the UFC but noted that the 31-year-old has had to overcome even greater doubt.

Dana White says Pimblett has been doubted more than McGregor

Dana White drew parallels between Paddy Pimblett’s rise and Conor McGregor’s but said the public’s disbelief has been even stronger for the Liverpool native.

He believes UFC 324 will be the true test to determine whether Pimblett can silence his critics with a win against Justin Gaethje.

“He reminds me of the Conor McGregor story. He came in with this great personality, and they were always overlooked.

“Every time he fought, everybody believed he was going to lose, and Paddy has been that guy more so than Conor McGregor. This is a huge test for him. Gaethje’s been wanting a shot at the title, so here we go.”

White’s comments add to a growing belief that Pimblett could become the UFC’s next major crossover star.

His personality, confidence, and fan connection have already made him one of the sport’s most talked-about figures.

Paddy Pimblett’s unbeaten run faces biggest test yet

Paddy Pimblett enters UFC 324 undefeated in seven UFC fights and with a growing international following.

His clash with Justin Gaethje represents both his first title opportunity and a chance to prove he belongs among the sport’s elite.

Whether Pimblett can emulate McGregor’s rise remains to be seen, but Dana White’s faith shows how highly the UFC views his potential.

A win at UFC 324 would move him closer to becoming one of the defining figures of this new generation.
