Newcastle United sporting director Dan Ashworth is desperate to sign Chelsea target Leandro Trossard, who turned down a move to Arsenal, according to TEAMtalk.
Trossard, who rejected Arsenal for Brighton and Hove Albion in 2019, is on the radar of Chelsea and Newcastle, according to the report.
Both Chelsea and Newcastle are keen on signing the Belgium international winger either in the January transfer window or next summer.
The report has claimed that Brighton’s former sporting director Dan Ashworth is ‘desperate’ to sign the 27-year-old winger for Newcastle, who are more keen on him than Chelsea.

Leandro Trossard would be brilliant for Newcastle
In our view, Brighton and Hove Albion winger Leandro Trossard would be a brilliant signing for Newcastle United.
The 27-year-old has developed well during his time at Brighton and is one of the better wingers in the Premier League.
The Belgian is also at the right age to take the next step in his career and move to a bigger club such as Newcastle, who are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League.
That Arsenal wanted to sign the winger before he moved to Brighton, according to his agent Josy Comhair, which shows how highly he is rated in the footballing community.
