Well, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to sign Adama Traore from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Spain international has been heavily linked with a transfer to Tottenham in recent weeks and The Daily Mail reported this afternoon that there’s a ‘strong possibility’ he’s going to join.

Traore was linked to the Lilywhites during Nuno Espirito Santo’s reign in North London, however nothing materialised on that occasion.

Under Antonio Conte, though, it seems increasingly likely that the powerful attacker is heading to Hotspur Way.

And this is how Tottenham supporters are reacting to the speculation on Twitter:

Surprising

There’s a major chunk of Tottenham supporters fully behind this venture by Fabio Paratici and Italian manager Conte.

However, it’s impossible to ignore Traore’s Premier League struggles.

Despite being a ridiculous athlete in terms of power and speed, the 25-year-old is yet to score or assist a goal in 20 outings across all competitions this season.

And for an attacking player, that’s a dismal return.

Overall, we’re talking about somebody with seven goals and 14 assists in 158 Premier League appearances and when you consider his physical attributes, his football statistics simply aren’t brilliant.

That being said, Conte is a superb football manager and if anybody can take Traore to an elevated level, it’s him.
