In 2021, Daniel Levy probably shortlisted more football managers for Tottenham than he ate hot dinners – it was a hectic year.
First, the 60-year-old had to find a replacement for José Mourinho, with Football London claiming that Spurs were looking at Graham Potter.
Eventually, Nuno Espirito Santo was hired, but after he was swiftly sacked, Potter again found himself under consideration (Football London).
Now, however, Tim Sherwood doesn’t believe the 46-year-old will be considered for top jobs anymore.
What’s the story?
Well, when asked by Jeff Stelling if Potter’s reputation is in danger of being tarnished due to Brighton’s poor form, Sherwood said: “Unfortunately it is.

“You strike while the iron is hot, and he was hot. They were performing very well, they were getting results. His stock is very, very low at the moment. Who’s gonna want to touch him now? He’s been damaged, unfortunately.”
After losing just four of their first 23 Premier League games this season, Potter’s Brighton have seen their form fall off a cliff.
The Seagulls have lost six successive Premier League matches, and Potter even called the supporters out after hearing booing at the Amex Stadium, following a 0-0 draw against Leeds.
Graham Potter could still manage Tottenham
In our view, Sherwood, Stelling and the rest of the Soccer Saturday crew may be overdoing it here.
Yes, Brighton are on a dismal run of form, but the former Swansea boss is still a very bright coach, with plenty of time on his side to improve.

After all, Mauricio Pochettino’s Southampton didn’t always have set the world alight, but that didn’t mean the Argentine was a bad manager.
With time, we’re sure Potter will reestablish himself as one of the most impressive coaches in the Premier League, whether that’s at Brighton, or elsewhere.
