The Dallas Police Department gave the Norway national football team a hero’s welcome during the 2026 World Cup.
The Norwegian players arrived at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on Monday ahead of their Round of 32 clash with the Ivory Coast.
Norway then beat the Ivory Coast 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon, with goals from Antonio Nusa and, of course, Erling Haaland.
Even though they could reach the latter stages, many will remember Norway’s World Cup campaign for their iconic celebrations.
Here is how the Dallas Police played into that narrative when the Norwegian players arrived in Texas this week.

How Dallas police recreated Norway’s iconic World Cup celebration
The Norwegian fans have one of the most unique celebrations at the World Cup, and their players have followed suit.
They have started performing a ‘Viking row’ where players and fans sit shoulder to shoulder and pretend to row together.
Well, the Dallas Police joined in the fun by mimicking the ‘Viking Row’ at Dallas airport when the Norwegian players touched down.
The classy gesture was particularly well received on social media, with many Norwegians thanking them for the warm welcome.
Norway performed the ‘Viking Row’ once again themselves after beating the Ivory Coast at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium.
Their next opportunity to row together will come against Brazil in the Round of 16 at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
Brazil will be the favourites to win the contest, but Norway should be considered dark horses in the World Cup.
