Crystal Palace, who are struggling in the Premier League at the moment, are also claimed to be interested in making a loan offer for the 24-year-old Frenchman.

The former France Under-21 international seems to have established himself as the first-choice custodian at PSG this season, playing in all six Ligue 1 games so far.
Areola played for PSG against Celtic in the Champions League last week as week. The Frenchman featured in the Ligue 1 outfit’s 5-0 victory over Brendan Rodgers’s side at Celtic Park in Group B last Tuesday.

Liverpool and Celtic legend Kenny Dalglish was following the match, and the former Scotland international forward was impressed with the performance of Areola for PSG against the Glasgow giants – a sign that if Newcastle get him, then they would be signing a very good player.
“I tell you what, their keeper Alphonse Areola also really looks the part,” Dalglish wrote in The Sunday Post. “He had a fine save to deny Leigh Griffiths from a free-kick.”
