The Celtic legend has also urged Rangers to find consistency in their game and to find the level of their bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic.
Dalglish wrote in The Sunday Post: “Steven Gerrard knows that his team must find a way of beating the likes of Kilmarnock and Aberdeen regularly.
It’s no good beating Celtic but then falling at other hurdles.
“The Ibrox club have to find the same level as their Old Firm rivals, week-in, week-out. It may sound easy, but it is not. Winning is difficult, trust me.
That’s why Celtic deserve praise and applause for this season.
“Yes, they would have much rather have played the 38 games, and not have the league called after only 30.
“But that isn’t their fault. They have won the league under the current circumstances. Credit to them for that.”
Title race
Celtic are as many as 13 points clear of second-placed Rangers at the top the Scottish Premiership table at the moment.
However, Steven Gerrard’s side have a game in hand, and there are also two Old Firm derbies left to be played this season.
The Scottish Premiership is suspended at the moment due to the global health crisis, with Sky Sports reporting that Celtic will be crowned champions and the league called off this week.
Need to improve
Rangers were very good in the league in the first half of the season and were giving Celtic a run for their money.
However, since the mid-season winter break, Neil Lennon’s side have raced ahead, and the Gers have failed to keep up.
Something similar happened last season as well, and manager Gerrard needs to sort this out next campaign, as Rangers will hope to stop Celtic from winning the league title 10 times in a row.
