According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are trying to find bargains similar to Arsenal’s teenage striking sensation Folarin Balogun.

The Daily Mail made the revelation within an article detailing how the Gunners are damaging their finances with their poor on-field displays.

Towards the end of the article, it is said that Arsenal are under pressure to convince their young prodigies that they have a route to first-team football.

As a result, Liverpool have been looking at those youngsters about to fall out of contract at the Emirates Stadium.

The Athletic have previously revealed that Jürgen Klopp’s side wanted to sign Balogun, who the Daily Mail say is being monitored by Stuttgart and Bayer Leverkusen.

It’s interesting to see the approach adopted by Liverpool here.

Could it imply that the Reds’ transfer budget is tight, and they’re focusing on securing the next big thing for pennies?

Potentially, but it would be speculative to suggest that, in our view.

One thing it does clearly suggest though, is that Arsenal’s young guns are of a high standard, and the club must do all they can to keep them.

Why else would the Premier League champions be sniffing around?

Arsenal have already lost world-class talent before such as Bayern Munich forward Serge Gnabry, so they certainly won’t want a repeat of that.
