Leeds United’s Kemar Roofe missed a very big chance for the Whites on Friday – and it proved costly.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Alan McInally has expressed his disbelief over a chance missed by Leeds United’s Kemar Roofe on Friday.
The Whites lost 2-1 to 10-man Wigan Athletic in a defeat which saw Marcelo Bielsa’s side drop to third in the Championship, with three games to go.
Leeds had more than enough chances to salvage at least a point, but the West Yorkshire side spurned a number of opportunities.
Roofe, a £3 million signing in 2016 [Yorkshire Post], is perhaps most guilty on that front after fluffing a gilt-edged chance to head United into a second-half lead, but he tried to chest the ball home instead.
And McInally says he doesn’t understand what the 26-year-old was thinking or trying whatsoever.
“It’s a good ball in. Watch Kemar Roofe, he guides it, he can’t get a lot of power on it,” McInally said on Sky Sports.
“He actually uses his chest rather than his head, which I do not understand whatsoever. It makes it an easy save for Christian Walton in the Wigan goal. That was a big chance.”
Roofe, being the personalty he is, will be replaying the chance over and over again in his mind.

It could and certainly should have been his 15th Championship goal of the season and how different things could have been had he scored.
But the former Oxford United hitman is also mentally strong and he will have no trouble putting that miss to one side and focusing on making amends in Leeds’ next fixture, which comes away to Brentford on Easter Monday.
Sheffield United, who went ahead of the West Yorkshire side on goal difference, are away to Hull City on the same day.
