Liverpool youngster has big hopes.

Liverpool midfield talent Curtis Jones has high hopes for his future.

The very highest in fact. Jones says his top target is to captain the Reds.

Jones signed a new contract this week and spoke to the club website about his blossoming career and aspirations.

When asked about his targets, Jones responded: “Being the captain of Liverpool Football Club, playing every week and winning a trophy is definitely what I’m looking to do.

“But I haven’t looked that far yet, I’m taking it step by step. My next step should be a big one and I can’t wait to see what it is.”

There’s nothing wrong with Jones’ comments and its good he is aiming high.

As a local lad, Liverpool have particularly high hopes for the teenager.

At just 18, time is on Jones’ side, but at this stage of the season, he can have hope that this year can be the one where he makes the leap.

All future captains have to start somewhere.
